* GRI Priority Research Fund supports scholarly research that is directed toward published University priority areas.

* GRI Small Grants Fund encourages research projects undertaken by faculty, staff, and students, covering a wide range of research topics and methodologies.

* GRI Mini-Grants Fund is an additional category of Small Grant intended to streamline the application and review process.

* Faculty Development Fund sponsors on-campus faculty development activities, e.g., lectures, seminars, institutes, workshops or short courses that enhance teaching and learning strategies.

* Adam Politzer Memorial Research Fund provides funds for research conducted under the auspices of GRI related to deaf individuals who have a secondary disability that may be either a visual or emotional disturbance.

* Schaefer Professorship offers an annual award "to a distinguished scholar who is visiting the University or to a permanent professor here."

* Graduate Student Travel Fund supports student professional growth by providing financial aid to graduate students who have presentations accepted at off-campus professional meetings and conferences.

* Fulbright in Italy or Ireland Programs contributes to the development of deaf children in Italy or Ireland and the mutual understanding between professionals in Italy or Ireland and the U.S.

* Powrie V. Doctor Chair of Deaf Studies brings persons to campus who will contribute to the intellectual and/or creative life of the University and the deaf community, and who in turn can benefit from its unique human and material resources. Although this award is not available to Gallaudet faculty or staff, they may nominate candidates for the award.

* Fulbright Scholarship provides scholarships for graduate study and research under programs administered by the Institute of International Education and funded by the Fulbright Commission.
