Description
This grant is a collaborative effort with George Washington University to reach women, Deaf, and other underrepresented groups to encourage and equip them to seek tenure-track positions. This was accomplished via workshops in May 2003, 2004, and 2005. This past year was a no-cost extension year to evaluate the success of the workshop and to evaluate continuing and new needs in this area. During this funding cycle, issues of teaching, research, service, the two-career family, re-entry into the workplace, writing for the job, resumes, grant writing, and other topics were included in the workshops. A private university (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) also wanted us to present the workshop at their institution in October 2005.
