This monograph is the first to study the novels, journal articles, newspaper columns, lectures, and other publications of Alice and Elbert Hubbard. Other books are available regarding the arts and crafts, furniture, and book-printing and binding accomplishments of their Roycroft community in East Aurora, New York, from 1895 until their death on the Lusitania in 1915, but there has been no comprehensive treatment of the scope and themes of their progressivist writings.
