Description

This essay, to be written in French, will be submitted to the French periodical, Patrimoine Sourd ( Deaf Heritage), at the invitation of Yves Delaporte, one of its major contributors. The essay will reintroduce the life and works of the biographer Yvonne Pitrois (1880-1937) to the readers of this periodical. Pitrois, although celebrated during her lifetime, is largely unknown to the contemporary French deaf population.
