17. Configure Saros User Account

Eventually, we will be able to set up our own server to handle communications. (I previously set up a jabber server, which is what we need.) However, for now, we can just use Google’s services.

Enter the following into the dialog box that appears.

XMPP/Jabber Server	gmail.com
Username	first.last@gallaudet.edu
Password	Gallaudet e-mail password

Note

You should use your Gallaudet account, or another Gmail account. Google uses the XMPP/Jabber protocol. Other services may use Jabber, but if you do not know for sure, it is better to use a Google provider until we set something else up.
