COMMENTS
Bridgman Home is a level 12 residential facility for Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth. Our 24-hour residential program provides a culturally affirmative environment in a home-like setting for youth ages 12 to 18. A team of highly trained professionals fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) provide care and supervision to youth in addition to comprehensive mental health services. Staff works corroboratively with professionals to administer individualized quality care accommodating each youth's social, emotional, behavioral, linguistic, and academic needs. Care is provided to empower Deaf and Hard of Hearing youth to develop communication skills and healthy coping methods that can reduce linguistic barriers and enhance emotional/psychological growth. Deaf group home is to provide youth with a stable and nurturing living environment that will prepare them for a successful transition back to their family or another appropriate setting.
